BOURNEMOUTH DRIVERS

Deliver hope to families in crisis.

OVERVIEW 

Who: 70 drivers, each with a helper.

When: Dispatch times are between 10am and 1.30pm on Mon 23 Dec 24.  All deliveries should be complete and paperwork returned by 5pm.  

Where: Dispatch from Citygate Church, BH8 8AS.  Deliver to no more than three addresses in Bournemouth (BH1 to BH11).

What: Christmas hampers weighing approximately 25kg each filled with non-perishable food, plus a bag of fresh vegetables and bread and a bag of frozen meat.

How: Using your own vehicle, following a delivery list and with our team available to support you on the end of the phone.

APPLICATION

New applicants can join our delivery fleet through the application process without any prior experience or contact with the appeal.  To safeguard our hamper recipients and ensure that delivery day goes smoothly, we put high expectations on our drivers and the application process is necessarily demanding.  Please be prepared for the following steps:

  1. Register your interest - Find your local appeal on our website and submit your name and email address using the form to receive an invitation to download the app and apply.  DONE ✔

  2. Download Hamper App - Register with JotForm and install our app icon on the homescreen of your device (See INSTALL THE APP below).  The App contains the application form and is an essential part of how we manage delivery day itself.

  3. Complete application form - Submit your details, provide two references and complete our online training and short test.  We need to know you fully understand what is expected of you.

  4. Wait for references to be returned - We require satisfactory responses from two references who must verify their identity by email and SMS.  This is to check that you can be relied upon.

  5. Respond to comms checks - Listen out for occasional updates and respond when requested to email or SMS instructions.  This is a final confirmation that you are ready to join the fleet.

Veteran drivers who are returning for another delivery day should respond to an invitation sent by email.  They will be issued with a code to bypass the need for references, but they will still be required to download the Hamper App, complete the online training and respond to a comms check.

INSTALL THE APP

The HamperApp is NOT available through the App Store or Google Play. You must follow these steps instead:

  1. Click on the download button below to start.

  2. Register with JotForm (the host) using the email address you registered with (so we recognise you!)

  3. Add to homescreen.  Follow the prompts on your iPhone or Android to put our icon on your homescreen for easy access.  You can also access the app through any web browser.

Once you are in the HamperApp you can begin the Driver Application itself.
