Christmas 2025: What’s the plan?

After 8 years of pioneering the project in Bournemouth, we are taking a step back to let others run this season’s hamper events.

Bournemouth Foodbank will take the lead in creating and distributing 200 hampers to families in need this Christmas, ensuring that the spirit of giving lives on.

Furthermore, St Clement’s Church in Boscombe will (as usual) be providing ‘bags of kindness’ to families connected to their parish as part of the national Love Christmas initiative.

The Hamper Appeal is delighted to support both of these events with administrative help as we share the tools and resources we have developed to ensure families can celebrate together this season.  If you would be interested in helping or benefiting from either of these projects, please contact them directly.

I do want to take a moment to thank everyone in our 8 year run of delivering hampers to families in Bournemouth.  It has been an incredible privilege to represent a growing network of people and organisations who have grasped the significance of celebrating together through the inclusion of every marginalised and vulnerable family.  I am looking forward to a rest this Christmas to prioritise my own family and anticipate a new year rediscovering the role of the Hamper Appeal in facilitating partnership and social change in our communities.

Merry Christmas!
